Chili Willies

Chili Willies is on Main St., Boonton, NJ.  Forget the chain Mexican restaurants.  Treat to yourself to outstanding homemade Mexican food.  Chef/owner Jose and his wife Jackie serve up plump and fiery buffalo wings, big burritos, and all kings of steak, chicken and pork dishes with spicy sauces.  Try the pork chops Durango and ask for some of their special hot sauce to slather it with.   Chili Willies is unassuming but the fare is hearty and plentiful.

Vine

Vine is an Italian/Mediterranean restaurant in Basking Ridge, NJ.  The food is absolutely magnificent.  I used to work at Vine so you might accuse me of being biased.  All I can say is try the food.  You'll see my opinion is objective and reality based.  Consider this:  Vine was the only restaurant to receive 4 stars from the Newark Star Ledger in 2006.  Try the wonderul tasting menu which is more than fairly priced.

The Sevilla Spain

The Sevilla Spain in Pine Brook NJ is known for its high quality and huge portions.  While you can certainly find stellar examples of Spanish classics such as Paella, and a decent selection of Spanish wines, there are many other items on the menu that shine.  I can never decide between the steak, the rack of lamb, or the stuffed lobster, the latter of which is the best I've ever had in my life.

Daniel

Daniel is the flagship French restaurant of esteemed Chef Daniel Boulud on East 65th St. in Manhattan.   If money is no object and you want the creme de la creme, Daniel is, in my opinion, the best French restaurant in the New York metropolitan area, if not the country.  Opulent decor, sublime ambience, perfect service, and unparalled food, all of which must be experienced to be believed.

Bed & Breakfast

Dream House Country Inn

The Dream House country Inn is a delightfully charming bed and breakfast in Bristol, Vermont, owned and operated by Susan Small and George Landis.  Susan and George are gracious and heartwarming hosts, more than willing to go the extra mile to ensure you have a pleasant stay.  Their hospitality is only outmatched by their cooking.  Some of the best food I had in Vermont was Susan's outstanding breakfasts accentuated by George's apple cider, (the best I have ever tasted), made daily from their own apple orchard.  Call 802-453-2805 for more information.
